Smart grid development at cramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD)

SMUD, last year, was granted $127.5 million through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to advance smart grid implementation. This video present and discuss the most essential facets of smart grid technology as well as the implemented project at Sacramento. It also relates to the question which states that what's here today and what's needed for tomorrow, future potential, timelines and issues corresponding to the implementation of smart grid technology in the real world. 


This presentation is conducted by  Jim Parks, the utility's Program Manager of Energy Efficiency and Customer R&D.

Shanghai Municipal Electric Power Company executives visit PEA

Mr.Narongsak Kamales, Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) Governor, Mr.Pongsakorn Tontivanichanon, Deputy Governor (Planning and System Development), Mr.Numchai Lowattanatakul, Deputy Governor (Office of the Governor), Mr.Wongsawat Pilaslaksanakan, Assistant Governor (Planning and System Development) and PEA executives welcome Mr.Gong Zun, General Manager, Shanghai Bi Yang Energy Technology Company, Shanghai Municipal Electric Power Company (SMEPC), Mr.Zhao Yu, Director of International Business Development Division, International Cooperation Department and SMEPC Delegation on the occasion of the Visit Head Office of PEA on 13th January 2011. 


           According to the framework of the discussion during this event, there are six fields of cooperation in 2011 between PEA and SMEPC as followings 1. Electric Vehicle(EV), 2. Renewable energy (RE), 3. Advanced Metering Infrastructure(AMI), 4. Underground Facilities(UG),  5.  Information and Communication Technology(ICT and Training) , and 6. the arrangement of the technician exchange, training programs and project developing.


           On January,14 2011, SMEPC also visited some PEA's pilot projects such as Solar Farm in ChaChoengSao Province, Underground Cable and Advanced Metering Infrastructure sites in Pattaya which was organized by  Public Relations Data Base Section, Corporate Communications Division.

Buy only what you really need

Bloom energy, a fuel cell and distributed energy supplier, announced a new service "Bloom Electron" allows customers to buy only power they need and leave the equipment managed by Bloom Energy. It's a new age of buying energy which they said it'd immediately cut power bill by 20%.
