One of the smart grid's most important goals is to pull together information from multiple sources. But to do that, you need a seamless communications network that spans multiple departments. And one that can grow with you as you layer on new applications.
That is why it is so exciting to see what Centerpoint Energy is accomplishing. Its network is designed to do waaaaaaaay more than deliver reads from the 2.4 million smart meters the Houston-based utility is putting in.
